History

The LCSA was formed in 2002 by a group of Leeds fans who first "met" on the internet site www.tykesrugby.co.uk. The inspiration behind both this site and the subsequent forming of the LCSA was a very enthusiastic, ebullient and energetic rugby fan: Karen Mallender aka "Mally".

Thanks to Karen, the LCSA has been up and running since that inagural meeting in September 2002. Its first LCSA-organised event was held in June 2003, with the Family Fun Day. This proved to be a successful enterprise and the LCSA now organises at least six events a year, often in partnership with Leeds Rugby.

In addition to the events, the LCSA organises and presents the Supporters Player of the Year award at the annual Leeds Carnegie Awards Dinner. Many of the regular (and not so regular) fans vote in the weeks leading up to the dinner and previous winners have included Cameron Mather, Chris Bell and Tom Biggs.

The LCSA also acts as an organisational focus for Leeds fans travelling to away games and welcomes away fans to Headingley, both from the UK and overseas.

The LCSA goes from strength to strength, ever increasing its benefits to its members and its standing with the club. The more members we have, the better we can represent the supporter base.
