The LCSA would like to say a big "thank you" to all those who voted in this year's Supporters' Player of the Season poll.
On a great night at Headingley Carnegie, awards were handed out to the best that Leeds Carnegie has to offer. The mood was relaxed, the food was good and anyone who attended was bound to have enjoyed it.
So to business: Who won what?
The Academy's Most Improved Player award was won by Phil Swainton, a young prop who has been under the tutelege of Rob Rawlinson for most of this season.
Academy Player of the Year went to James Craig, who took the John Bentley ribbing well on the night.
The Commitment to the Community award was popularly won by Rob Rawlinson, who has his testemonial year next season.
Young Player of the Year went to Calum Clark. In his first team debut season, Calum has been a positive force during hard, morale-sapping second halves.
The man of the night, however, was Mike MacDonald, winning not only Players Player of the Year, but the Colin Cramphorn trophy for Supporters' Player of the Year. In a season of hard-fought games where every player has given their all, Mike has excelled with his commitment, energy and drive. In true style, he seemed embarrassed to win the award, crediting the rest of the team. Mike, we salute you!
